Providing Thanksgiving Support: 50+ Families Receive Aldi Gift Cards

As part of our ongoing Violence Prevention and Community Wellness Initiative, DIG LIFE and our partners distributed over 50 Aldi gift cards, valued at $40 each. With Aldi’s Thanksgiving promotion—feeding up to 10 people for just $40—families were able to enjoy a complete holiday meal, easing financial stress during a traditionally challenging season.

This effort reflects DIG LIFE’s commitment to supporting the whole family. When families are stable, youth are more equipped to stay engaged in school, pursue their goals, and participate in positive activities. Food security remains a crucial pillar of community safety and violence prevention work in Long Beach.

Meet Anthony: DIG LIFE’s November Laptop Giveaway Scholar

This month’s Laptop Giveaway honored Anthony Andrewin, a driven 13-year-old who dreams of becoming both a DJ and a basketball player. Anthony’s inspiring essay shared his dedication to academics, his passion for music, and his desire to build a better future for himself, his siblings, and his mother.

Thanks to DIG LIFE donors and collaborators, Anthony received:

• A brand-new laptop

• DJ starter equipment

• A DIG LIFE mentor to support his journey

• Enrollment in the DIG STEP Program, beginning Spring Semester 2026

These tools will help Anthony strengthen his digital literacy, complete school assignments more efficiently, and explore creative career pathways through music and technology.
